Ever had to TRAIN your boss?

Ever had to 𝑻𝑹𝑨𝑰𝑵 your boss?

This most frequently happens after you give your 2-weeks' notice...

I mean, after all... how many bosses actually 𝑲𝑵𝑶𝑾 what their employees do?

I regularly get updates from clients that they are staring new jobs but sometimes a whole bunch come at once... like a CLUSTER! And it just happened these last 10 days! 🎉 😃 💥 🎊

Then it gets me thinking about what the 2 weeks 𝒂𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒓 giving notice will look like... Having gone through this myself many times, it goes something like this...

𝟏) 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠! Yes... your team will be scrambling on how to replace your production until your replacement is in seat and fully trained themselves... so you will need to show them all the forms, workarounds and where you save shiiiii-stuff!

𝟐) 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐨𝐬𝐬 on what it is you have been doing all this time. Ironically, had they taken more of an interest prior to today, maybe you wouldn't be leaving... 🤷‍♂️

𝟑) 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮. This can hurt a little bit as you start to reflect about your time here and how you were once "ALL IN" but now you are on your way out.

𝟒) 𝐁𝐲𝐞-𝐛𝐲𝐞 𝐂𝐑𝐌 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐠𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐰𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠! 😉 Those endless meetings with the IT nerds that are aimlessly trying to SOLVE what they broke and never seem to implement the solutions you KNOW need to be done... well, you get to say, "𝑺𝒆𝒆 𝒚𝒂!" But before you think you're FREE... you should know... you're about to jump right into another CRM conversion gone wrong...🙄

𝟓) 𝐁𝐲 𝐖𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤, you are just about out of the loop... your mind keeps drifting to your new landing spot and you are reflecting on all that you are leaving behind and if the team will be okay without you.

These are just some of the things I have personally experienced but not everything. So, when I get the updates from clients, friends or just people updating their new jobs, I often imagine what their next 2 weeks will look like.
